Students at Bronx High School for Law, Government and Justice Participate in Cablevision ‘Meet the Leaders at School’ Event With NYS Assemblyman Michael Blake

Bronx, NY, December 4, 2015 Students at Bronx High School for Law, Government and Justice today took part in the popular Cablevision television show, “Meet the Leaders at School.”  Following welcoming remarks by Principal Johanie Hernandez and an introduction by Cablevision moderator Shawna Ryan, New York State Assemblyman Michael Blake addressed the audience and participated in a Q&A with students that covered a variety of current topics.  Questions discussed ranged from bringing affordable housing to the Bronx, increasing the minimum wage in New York State, addressing pollution in the Bronx, keeping Metro Card prices affordable, increasing graduation rates in the Bronx, and more.

“Congratulations to each of the students involved in the program today for their perceptive and timely questions,” said Assemblyman Blake.  “Their interest in current issues is clearly evident and it is heartening to see our young people interested in how they can help government be more effective.  I would also like to thank Cablevision for bringing this informative program into the classroom.
