BRONX, NY, December 6, 2015 – Monroe College, a national leader in urban and international education, today held its 27th Annual Winter Wonderland Celebration for students and their families.

In keeping with tradition, the college once again transformed its King Hall building on the Bronx campus into a winter wonderland filled with joyful holiday decorations, twinkling lights, artificial snow and Christmas trees. Faculty and staff members volunteered their time to decorate the building, dress as elves during the event, serve sugary treats, and entertain the 1,000 adults and children estimated to have attended. Gifts were provided to the children and those interested took photos with Santa.

“Our Winter Wonderland celebration is an eagerly anticipated event by everyone at Monroe, and this year was certainly no exception as evidenced by the great number of volunteers who quickly signed up and made sure it was our best one yet,” said Stephen Jerome, President of Monroe College. “Seeing the blissful joy and excitement in the eyes of the children is all the motivation we need to host this event year after year, and we are entirely thrilled to do so.”

The Winter Wonderland Celebration was a free event open to Monroe College students, faculty, and staff.
