“On Saturday, February 6, State Senator Gustavo Rivera, Assemblymember Michael Blake and Councilmember Vanessa L. Gibson hosted a Black History Month celebration at the Claremont Neighborhood Center in Morrisania. Congressmember Jose Serrano was among the more than 100 guests who filled the center’s gymnasium and enjoyed an afternoon full of live musical performances and free health screenings. Community members Pastor Eddie Pierce from God’s Fellowship Church, Joanne Allers from Local 372 and Barbara Holmes who serves as PSA-7 Community Council President and as the Tenant Association President at Morris- Gouverneur Houses were honored for their great contributions to the community.”
