And The Winners Are… — A Look Back At The Oscars

‘AND THE WINNERS ARE …’, a one-hour Oscar extravaganza available on YouTube, was written and produced by longtime CBS/NBC TV news and entertainment reporter and movie critic, David Sheehan.

Sheehan also looks back at 2002 when the Oscars weren’t so whitewashed, capturing backstage moments with Denzel Washington and Halle Berry winning Best Actor and Best Actress. Another winner of color, Morgan Freeman, is also in the segment.

‘AND THE WINNERS ARE …’ is a fast-paced 60-minute spectacular featuring 25 of Sheehan’s movie star interviews of the most famous Oscar winners (and losers) from the past five decades, including screen icons Marlon Brando, Woody Allen,Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sylvester Stallone, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman, John Travolta, Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman, Robin Williams, Al Pacino, and ten more.

The outspoken thoughts and feelings of the stars, including personal revelations about the impact of fame on their humanity, offer a bristling kaleidoscope of attitudes about Oscar, ranging from outright hatred and disdain to loving the acclaim and even enjoying the race.

“AND THE WINNERS ARE …” opens with a look at the current controversy about the absence of African-Americans in this year’s Academy Awards nominations. The opening features a leadoff interview with Will Smith, whose highly touted performance in “Concussion” was ignored, adding more momentum to Smith’s own viral social media protest hashtag #OscarsSoWhite.
