POP-UP IDNYC ENROLLMENT CENTER LAUNCHES AT SPRING BANK

Site will provide easy access to municipal identification for Bronxites

Bronx, New York— The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Department of Consumer Affairs, and Spring Bank will launch IDNYC’s first  pop-up enrollment center at a bank, located at Spring Bank, 69 East 167th Street in the Bronx, on Thursday, June 23 at 10 a.m.

Hours of the Spring Bank Bronx pop-up enrollment center operation: Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm June 23 – July 8th, 2016.

IDNYC is a free form of identification available to all City residents 14 and older, and broadly accepted to access many City services and benefits. IDNYC represents the inclusiveness of New York, accessible to those who may not have other identification, whether they’re a senior, an immigrant, or teenager.

As the only B Corp-certified bank in the state, increasing access to financial services for the unbanked and underbanked is integral to Spring Bank’s mission.

IDNYC is the largest municipal ID program in the country. Last year, DCA and MOIA worked with federal regulators, banks and credit unions to ensure IDNYC provided access to basic financial services to underserved consumers.

The card is accepted as the primary form of identification at 12 financial institutions that serve New Yorkers across the city, including at Spring Bank branches in the South Bronx and Harlem.

IDNYC’s additional benefits include discounts on groceries and medicine, as well as free one-year memberships to 40 cultural institutions across the City, including the New York Botanical Gardens and Bronx Museum of the Arts.

To learn more, or to set up an enrollment appointment, New Yorkers can call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov/idnyc. Both 311 and IDNYC’s website have free interpretation and translation capabilities. The City will not ask applicants for information about their immigration status.
