Bronx DA Clark Appoints Teresa Mason as Chief of Staff

Mason Brings 30 Years of Government and Corporate Experience to Post

 

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark today announced that Teresa Mason has joined the Bronx District Attorney’s Office as Chief of Staff.

District Attorney Clark said, “Teresa Mason has served in top positions at a variety of government and private institutions, and brings invaluable experience in the areas of operations, personnel and strategic planning to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office as we reorganize and supplement our staff.

“Ms. Mason began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Criminal Court Bureau, and rose to Supervisor and Deputy Bureau Chief in this Office. We welcome her back to assist in our endeavor to provide swift, certain justice in the Bronx.”

 

Ms. Mason has joined the Bronx District Attorney’s Executive Staff as Chief of Staff. In that capacity, she will oversee the Division of Administration and Resource Management, which includes Law Enforcement Services, Public Information, Community Affairs, and the Human Resources components of recruitment, labor relations, training, and EEO and other compliance.

 

Ms. Mason most recently was Managing Partner for Client Development at BahnMulter LLP, a law firm whose practice includes the areas of labor law, criminal defense and corporate compliance. Prior to that position, Ms. Mason served as Vice President of Health Policy for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp.

 

Prior to that position, Ms. Mason was Chief of Staff for Delaware Attorney General Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III, directing all state office operations.

She has also served as Vice President of Homeland Security for a professional services firm. Before this role, Ms. Mason was Executive Vice President at MBNA America Bank in Delaware.

 

Preceding her position at MBNA, Ms. Mason was appointed by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as New York City’s 110th Sheriff–the Chief Civil Law Enforcement Officer– becoming the first woman sheriff in New York State. She also served as Assistant Deputy Commissioner in the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

 

Ms. Mason graduated from St. John’s University and Howard University School of Law.  She was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree from St. John’s University in 2002.

 

She serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees at St. John’s, and has been active in many organizations, including Delaware Humanities Forum, Special Olympics Delaware, Urban League and United Way.
