Bronx Landlord Sentenced to 25 Years in Tenant Killing

A Bronx landlord was sentenced to 25 years in prison yesterday in connection with the killing of a tenant and subsequent dumping of the body.

Nasean Bonie, 30, landlord of 663 Jefferson Place, had been arguing with the victim, Ramona Moore for weeks before she was last seen alive entering the building in late July of 2012.

Residents reported hearing a loud noise one evening. Moore’s fractured skull and skeletal remains were discovered in Orange County nearly three years later.

“For about three years the family of Ramona Moore anguished over not knowing what had happened to her. Now they have justice,” said District Attorney Darcel D. Clark.

Bonie’s sentence will run consecutively with the four years he is currently serving for second-degree assault for beating his wife, only weeks before Moore’s disappearance.
