BP Diaz Hosts Little League Final at Yankee Stadium

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Marissa Shorenstein, President of AT&T New York, and the New York Yankees co-hosted the sixth annual Borough President’s Cup Little League Championship on Tuesday, August 9th.

This year’s championship game saw Grand Slam Little League rally in the sixth inning to defeat Rolando Paulino Little League by a score of 11-8.

“I’d like to congratulate Grand Slam Little League on their victory as well as Paulino’s All-Stars for their participation in the tournament,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Díaz Jr. “This year’s championship game was a tremendous contest between two teams of great kids. I really enjoyed watching both teams live the dream of every Bronx baseball player: to play ball on the hallowed, historical grounds of Yankee Stadium. I’d like to thank the New York Yankees, Marissa Shorenstein and AT&T for their continued support of the Borough President’s Cup Little League Championship, which emphasizes not only athleticism but education as well.”
