TONIGHT: NYC VOTES 36TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT DEBATE ON BRONXNET

36TH SENATORIAL DISTRICT DEBATE

The seat for the 36th State Senatorial District is one of several being voted on in the upcoming Democratic primaries and BronxNet is giving Bronxites direct points of view from each candidate via a debate taking place tonight, August 29, 2016.  Candidates Edward A. Mulraine, Jamaal T. Bailey, Alvin Ponder, Pamela A. Hamilton-Johnson and Rev. Que English are confirmed to face off, as moderator, veteran BronxNet Host Gary Axelbank poses questions that provide insight for Bronx voters.

Produced in partnership with the League of Women Voters, the debate is one of several BronxNet is producing as we head towards the 2016 General Election. The 36th Senatorial District Debate airs live as part of a special episode of BronxTalk on Channel 67-Optimum and 33-FiOS on August 29th at 9pm. The program will be repeated throughout the week at 9am, 3pm and 9pm. The debate is also simultaneously webcast at www.bronxnet.org.

A Voter Guide featuring messages from candidates from several races is also being produced in partnership with NYC Votes. Candidates from the 78th, 84th, 85th, 86th and 87th Assembly Districts, and 32nd, 33rd and 36th Senatorial Districts are recording messages that will run during BronxNet program breaks in the days leading up to the primaries.

“The series of debates and Voter Guide are part of BronxNet’s commitment to keeping Bronxites informed and in touch with candidates and where they stand on the issues. We thank the League of Women Voters and NYC Votes for partnering with us to create media programs that help Bronx voters make informed decisions,” said BronxNet Executive Director Michael Max Knobbe.
