DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS HITS THE STREETS TO REMIND EMPLOYERS OF MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

On Thursday, December 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Lorelei Salas, representatives from the Commission Human Rights Commission (CCHR) and Small Business Services (SBS), and elected officials will conduct a Business Education Day in all five boroughs to remind local businesses that the New York State minimum wage goes up for all workers regardless of status on December 31, 2016. Teams will also educate local businesses about other workplace, consumer protection, and licensing laws that apply to them—without issuing violations.
