PropertyShark has just finished compiling our 2016 Foreclosure Report, covering first-time residential properties and wanted to share with you the results as foreclosures in the Bronx surged 37% in 2016.

- The Bronx registered the biggest increase in terms of foreclosure numbers, with a 37% Y-o-Y surge. A total of 478 homes were scheduled for auction for the first time
- Zip codes 10466 and 10462 registered each 65 properties scheduled for auction thus being at a tie for the area with the highest foreclosure activity in the borough
- Overall, first time auctions in NYC increased 18% compared to 2015 as 2202 homes were scheduled for auction
