First Winter Snow Hit The Bronx…

The first significant snowfall of the season dumped nearly 3 inches of snow on the Bronx during the weekend storm. Besides the snow, the storm brought strong winds and slick roads causing dozens of accidents across the tri-state area as well as nearly 300 flight cancellations at the three major airports and dozens of accidents on area roadways.

Temperatures later this week are expected to reach the 50’s. Citywide the Department of Sanitation reported using 1,000 snow plows and 689 salt-spreaders.  And in the Bronx they reported using 148 plows and and 115 salt-spreaders.
