MLK Open House with Council Member Andy King, NYPD, and Youth


NYC Council Member Andy King (12th C.D.) hosted an Open House at his District Office on East Gun Hill Road, Bronx, today to celebrate the birthday and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students from Faith Christian Academy graced the audience of dozens of people with songs and a performance of speeches by Dr. King. The Rev. Rabbi Elijah Thompson opened with prayer and the blowing of the Shofar (Jewish horn). Closing prayerDSC_0004 was given by the Rev. Robert Smith. Members of the community from 47th Precinct Officers to community workers to union leaders to constituents attended the Open House. Movies honoring Dr. King and President Barack Obama were shown and lunch was served.
