Forward South Bronx Coalition Funds 41St Precinct, To Increase Alcohol Compliance Checks And C-Summons In The Longwood/Hunts Point Areas of The South Bronx

Forward South Bronx Coalition (FSBC), a diverse group of community partners against underage drinking and other substance misuse, have awarded the 41st Precinct a $20,000 grant to increase alcohol compliance checks within the confines of Community Board 2 (Longwood/Hunts Point). “Business establishments that serve alcohol and are in compliance with the law, go a long way towards curbing underage drinking. We are grateful for the level of cooperation we have received from the 41st Precinct. We view compliance checks as vital tool in our arsenal to curb underage drinking,” said Cedric McClester, FSBC Chairperson.

The funding has allowed the 41st Precinct to increase the hours of their alcohol compliance checks. They are also issuing C-Summons to underage drinkers and those in possession of marijuana. FSBC offers those establishments that serve alcohol New York State Liquor Authority sanctioned training. “Not only does our training benefit those taking the training, it also teaches them the responsible way of serving alcohol. As this applies to underage drinkers, our slogan is, Don’t Supply What They Can’t Buy, McClester added.
