A Tree Falls in the Bronx
by David Greene

TIMBER! … Police and fire crews were called out after strong winds and heavy rain brought down a large tree that damaged several park cars. The incident was reported at 10:45 p.m. Friday, March 31, along Garfield Street, between Van Nest Avenue and Mead Street. The tree’s roots uprooted the sidewalk and branches damaged vehicles parked on the street. No injuries were reported and the street was closed down until the tree could be chopped up and carted away.
