Senator Klein Honors Community Leader at Women of Distinction Celebration

Senator Jeff Klein recently honored Antonia Figueroa, Female Democratic District Leader in the 85th Assembly District, at the annual New York State Women of Distinction ceremony in Albany. The night’s proud honoree has been a steadfast leader in her local Bronx community since retiring from her 35-year career working at Sony Music as a credit manager. Not only does she serve as District Leader in the 85th Assembly District, Mrs. Figueroa also sits on the executive committee of the Bronx Democratic County Committee, serves on both the 43rd Precinct and PSA 8 Community Council and is a member of the Neighborhood Advisory Board #9. In the latter position, she helps to identify Community Service Block Grant priorities which have been vital to fighting poverty and revitalizing underserved and low income neighborhoods throughout The Bronx. In order to give back to her community on top of her already noble contributions, Mrs. Figueroa can often be found at Holy Cross Church, contributing to their mission and volunteering as an adult Altar Server. For this prestigious honor, Mrs. Figueroa was featured alongside other selfless honorees from throughout New York State in a “Women of Distinction” showcase in the Well of the Legislative Office Building in Albany.
