Art in the Park Returns
by David Greene

The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation has teamed up with UNIQLO Global for another year of Art in the Parks. Local artists were given grants to produce art in 10 local parks in communities under-served by cultural programming and the arts. The current program will run until 2018. Artists Patricia Cazorla and Nancy Saleme’s sculpture of a sparrow grace Joyce Kilmer Park on East 161 Street and artist Diana Perea has created a mural titled, “Bronx Tracks” inside Railroad Park at East 161 Street and Morris Avenue. The exhibit was presented by WHEDco, The DreamYard Project in a partnership with the New York City Housing Authority.
