Chairman Crowley Statement on CBO Score for Health Care Repeal Bill Rushed Forward by Senate Republicans

(Washington, DC) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office confirmed that millions would lose access to affordable health care coverage if the repeal bill authored by Senate Republicans went into law.

“With this new CBO score, I hope Senate Republicans finally see that no political agenda can justify 22 million individuals losing their health insurance over the next decade. Senate Republicans have crafted a health care repeal bill that will hurt the hardest-working American families in the cruelest ways imaginable. The newest GOP bill abandons all facades of helping working men and women as Senate Republicans actually seemed to seek out new ways to punish those who change jobs or face unpredictable life changes.”
