US Census Bureau Chief Retires

us-census-bureauAs his tenure at the U.S. Census Bureau came to an end, Director John H. Thompson wrote an agency blog piece recognizing “the hard work and notable achievements that Census Bureau employees have accomplished over the last few years.”

After stating agency accomplishments, Thompson concludes saying: “These achievements wouldn’t be possible without their diligent, excellent, and ongoing efforts. I’m confident that the Census Bureau is in good hands and that its great work will continue in the years to come.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that Ron Jarmin will assume the duties of the Director and Enrique Lamas will perform the duties of the Deputy Director of the Census. Both men will serve in an acting capacity, until a Director or Deputy Director of the Census is appointed by the President.
