Chairman Crowley Statement on Donald Trump Jr.’s Meeting with Russian-Connected Lawyer

(Washington, D.C.) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement after the New York Times reported that Donald Trump Jr. agreed to meet with a Kremlin-connected lawyer after learning that the individual had potentially damaging information designed by the Russian government to bolster President Trump’s campaign and damage then-opponent Hillary Clinton:

“These reports are beyond troubling. With a steady drip of new information seemingly coming forward each day, this administration is marred in controversy. The best thing the Trump administration can do is to come clean and allow this country to move forward. We need to focus on expanding opportunities for the hardest-working Americans – not the endless scandals coming from the White House.”
