Goumba Johnny Headlines Comedy Night at Empire City Casino on July 26th

Yonkers, NY — Popular Bronx-born comedian and former football player turned entrepreneur turned radio host and more, Goumba Johnny, will perform at Empire City Casino’s Comedy Night on Wednesday, July 26th. The quick-witted comic will be joined by featured performer Graham Kay and MC Angelo Lozada in the casino’s Good Time Room for what is sure to be a laugh-out-loud night of fun. The Comedy Night series is a great way to beat the summer heat and enjoy quality entertainment.

Before dominating the stand-up circuit, Johnny dabbled in a career in professional football; he was signed as a free agent by both the New York Jets and New York Giants. He also successfully ran a personal security company for celebrities. Many New Yorkers know Johnny’s voice from his long-term gig as host on the popular WKTU radio morning show, or recognize him from his guest roles on the hit CBS soap operas “Guiding Light” and “As the World Turns.”

As a comedian, Johnny has performed at some of the most iconic venues in the tristate area, including the renowned comedy club Carolines on Broadway, the legendary Friars Club, and some of the top casinos in the North East. He has shared the stage with numerous comedic legends such as Jerry Seinfeld, Martin Lawrence, Colin Quinn, and Andrew Dice Clay, and has appeared on a wide variety of television shows, including “The Early Show” on CBS and “The Queen Latifah Show.”

Joining him is Graham Kay, a Canadian stand-up comic, actor and television writer who has been featured on CBC-TV’s “Halifax Comedy Festival Special,” the iChannel’s “No Kidding,” and “The Being Frank Show.” Additionally, Kay is a regular on MUCH’s “Video On Trial,” and is the current host of the popular Sirius/XM radio show and podcast, “The Sport Brahs.” Most recently, Kay wrote for the CTV sitcom, “Spun Out,” starring comedy legend Dave Foley.

MC of the night is the Bronx’s own Angelo Lozada, who has been hailed as one of the top 50 Latino comics in the United States.  His television stand-up credits include NBC’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” BET’s “Comic View,” SiTV’s “Latino Laugh Festival,” and most recently, “Martin Lawrence Presents: First Amendment” on the STARZ cable television network. Lozada enjoys using his Puerto Rican heritage to unite folks of all backgrounds through laughter. His acclaimed comedy troupe, Nuyorican Rule, appeared in “Showtime at the Apollo” and in veteran comic Robert Klein’s “New Joke City.”

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets are sold at the door the night of the show  Admission is $5 for Empire Club Members and $25 for non-members; non-members can stop by any promotions booth prior to the show and join the Empire Club for free. Elite Club and President’s Club members gain free admission. All attendees receive a complimentary drink ticket.
