Candidate for City Council Adds 20th Endorsement to Grassroots Campaign
NYSNA Endorses Randy Abreu as Democratic Primary draws near
Bronx, N.Y. – Today the New York State Nurses Association endorsed 14th District Democratic Candidate for City Council, Randy Abreu. This endorsement comes on the heels of the National Institute of Reproductive Health (NIRH) and National Organization for Women New York (NOW-New York) endorsements earned by Abreu this week.
“Randy Abreu is a true advocate for working families. He has served the Attorney General and fought to defend the legal rights of New Yorkers. He has stood with Planned Parenthood to protect women’s health. He has worked to protect small businesses and expand clean energy to keep our air and water clean. NYSNA is proud to endorse Randy Abreu for City Council District 14,” said Marva Wade, RN and NYSNA Political Action Committee Chair.
“I’m grateful to receive the endorsement of NYSNA, and glad to work with, and for them in the coming weeks and years as we all work together to ensure that the hard-working people who live in the Bronx and throughout New York City are represented equitably,” said Randy Abreu. “I look forward to working arm in arm to advance the vision of NYSNA including our shared mission to win healthcare for all.”
This marks the 20th endorsement of Randy Abreu’s City Council campaign in the 14th district. The endorsement from NYSNA follows endorsements from Our Revolution, 1199SEIU, Planned Parenthood, Northwest Bronx for Change, Citizen Action NY, StreetsPAC, TenantsPAC, Vote Pro-Choice, Working Families Party, United Auto Workers, Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC, Muslim Democratic Club of New York, NYPAN, Bronx Progressives, NIRH, NOW-NY, Progressive Army, Assemblyman Danny O’Donnell and State Senator Gustavo Rivera.
