Chairman Crowley Statement on October 5 Deadline for DREAMers to Renew Status

(Queens, NY) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement on the October 5 deadline for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients to renew their status:

“President Trump’s administration created a crisis for DREAMers and their families with its decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. This week there is an important deadline to ensure that these young men and women, who contribute so much to their communities and our nation, are protected. It is critically important that DREAMers whose status expires before March 2018 renew their applications by Thursday to ensure their status is current. To ensure applications are received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, DREAMers should mail in their renewal applications by Tuesday at the latest.

“Democrats will keep fighting to give 800,000 DREAMers and their families the security and future they deserve.”

For information on how to renew, please visit www.uscis.gov or contact Rep. Crowley’s district offices at (718) 779-1400 (Queens) or (718) 931-1400 (Bronx).
