Chairman Crowley Statement on President Trump Dismantling Health Care
(Washington, D.C.) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement after President Trump said he will further sabotage the American health care system by stopping critical cost-sharing payments:
“This decision will devastate the health and financial security of seniors, veterans, children, and middle-class families. And it will do nothing to help improve Americans’ access to affordable, high-quality health care.
“With this decision, President Trump and congressional Republicans have taken their political obsession to dismantle our health care system to the extreme. The American people deserve better. We cannot afford to return to a time when quality health care coverage was unattainable for millions.
“This sabotage cannot be allowed to continue. House Democrats will keep fighting, as we believe access to affordable and quality health care is a right, not a privilege.”
