Chairman Crowley Statement on House Passage of Republican Budget

(Washington, D.C.) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement after House Republicans passed a budget that will slash essential government investments that help expand the middle class, protect seniors, and keep our economy growing in order to give a massive tax cut to corporate special interests:

“Congressional Republicans have abandoned all pretense of fighting for American families and the middle class. This budget will hike taxes on the hardest-working Americans and cut earned benefits like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while lavishing extensive tax breaks on corporate special interests. It is undeniably bad policy that will set America back decades.”
