Proverbs 25:2 (NKJV)
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”
Searching out matters hidden by God are designed to strengthen us physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. A great example is Daniel. Daniel was in captivity for a number of years before he began praying for his people and the successful rebuilding of the wall in Jerusalem. In the 10th chapter of the book that bears his name, we find Daniel praying and fasting for three straight weeks. Suddenly he was visited by an angel. The angel told Daniel that his prayer was heard the moment he began praying three weeks ago. The angel told Daniel that he had been sent by God to tell him of things to come. He then tells him that that he had began coming to him 21 days ago but was delayed by a demon, the “prince of the kingdom of Persia.“ He let’s him know that another angel, Michael, had to be dispatched to help defeat that demon.
All of this caused greatly to drop to his knees and palms of his hands. But the angel touched him and he was made to stand, even though he was trembling. He became weak, but was touched again and regained his strength; he lost his breath, but was yet touched again by the angel and spoke boldly. The angel then told him to be brave and strong. The angel of the Lord revealed to Daniel the matter that the Lord had hidden. If you read the book, you’ll see that Daniel is told of things yet to come.
I tell this story to share the tenacity and determination needed in some instances to uncover matters that have been hidden by God. Sometimes, you need to persevere for weeks. Sometimes you have to be touched in order to stand. Sometimes you need to be touched to regain your strength. Sometimes you need to be touched in order to speak boldly, and Sometimes you need to be strengthened if you are going to uncover a matter.
It takes time, effort and commitment, fortitude and character to search out a matter, but don’t give up. Whatever God has hidden is worth the effort to uncover.
