BRONX- On the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., NYC Council Member Andy King recalls the tragic moment when, as a youngster at age 5, he learned that Dr. King was shot and killed. He also talks about the meaning of Dr. King’s works in his own life. Council Member King shares his thoughts in a YouTube video posted today to honor and commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King.

In addition, Council Member King urges viewers to pause for a “moment of silence” at 6:05 p.m. today, the time Dr. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, TN.
