NEWS FROM FORDHAM UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS
Fordham women’s basketball senior forward   has been signed to a training camp deal with the reigning WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon. Davis joins Lynx draftees Jill Barta and Carlie Wagner and fellow training camp invitees Camille Zimmerman and Vionise Pierre-Louis to bring the Lynx’s training camp roster to 18 players. She will wear number 15.
“We are really happy for ‘G’ as she has passed her first test,” Head coach Stephanie Gaitley said, “The Lynx are an outstanding organization and are reigning WNBA champions. Every step is a little bit closer to her dream and we are all excited about what she has to offer!”
Davis will graduate from Fordham in May as one of the program’s best players. The Philadelphia native became the second Ram to score 1,000 career points and haul in 1,000 career rebounds, finishing her four-year career with 1,497 points and 1,199 boards, ranked fourth and second all-time, respectively, in school history. Davis averaged a double-double over her final two seasons in maroon and white, improving upon her junior season numbers to average 16.5 points and 13.4 rebounds as a senior.
Davis finished her senior campaign second in the nation with 10.2 rebounds per contest, third with 13.4 boards and 27 double-doubles, and fourth with 429 total rebounds, and is tied with two others for most career double-doubles (57) among all active players.
The star forward will also finish her career fourth with both 589 field goals and 319 free throws, seventh in appearances, with 125, and ninth with 96 starts.

Minnesota will announce the team’s training camp plans at a later date.

The Lynx will tip off the team’s 20th season in the WNBA with their home opener on Sunday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at Target Center.
