On Tuesday, three members of the 161st Street BID community were honored at Yankee Stadium by the 44th precinct for their contributions to the district.

George Manesis of Billy’s Sports Bar, Mike Hyatt, producer of BID street fairs, and Starbucks received plaques from Brian Smith, Sr. Vice President, NY Yankees, and Police Commissioner James O’Neill.

In addition, the BID community learned that 44th Precinct commanding officer, Deputy Inspector Martine Materasso, has been promoted and will be replaced by an NYPD executive officer from the 41st Precinct.

Friday will mark the opening of Taco Bell, the latest addition to the River Avenue business corridor.
