The Bronx High School of Science is pleased to announce ALUMNI REUNION WEEKEND. Alumni Reunion Weekend is a terrific time for classes to celebrate milestone reunions by connecting with friends, reminiscing and celebrating Bronx Science. All classes celebrating milestone reunions will have individual class celebrations on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Please click on your individual class for more specific information.

ALUMNI DAY
Date: Sunday, June 3, 2018 ♦ Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. ♦ Place: The Bronx High School Science, 75 Bronx Science Boulevard (West 205th Street), Bronx, NY 10468.

Some highlights of what to expect at Alumni Day:

  • Presentation of the State of School Address delivered by Principal Jean M. Donahue ’77, Ph.D.
  • The launch of the Morris Meister Lecture Series. Named in honor of the founder and first principal of Bronx Science, the Morris Meister Lecture Series, recognizes the academic success of Bronx Science alumni.

Hear from distinguished alumni:

  • Dr. Jill Bargonetti ’80, Professor at Hunter and breast cancer research expert
  • Dr. Todd Gitlin ’59, Professor at Columbia and mass media expert
  • Dr. Andrew Lo ’77, Professor at MIT and financial economics expert

Catch up on school activities:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences – Experience what teaching at Bronx Science looks like today by participating in the Distinguished Faculty Lecture given by award winning teacher, Dr. Todd Davis from the Social Studies Department.
  • Science and Math – Put your brain to work by solving math problems, try to beat the games our students have developed in Computer Science or visit science lab to do experiments in chemistry, biology and physics.
  • Journalism and Creative Writing – Read current and back issues of Dynamo, the Science Survey and the Yearbook. Take the Science Survey challenge to help the students write headlines for upcoming articles.
  • Music and Arts – Borrow an instrument to jam with our Jazz Band or join us to see scenes from our recent dramatic productions.
  • Tour the Bronx Science Holocaust Museum & Studies Center.
  • Robotics – Drive the award winning robots of the Bronx Science and see what the robots can do.
  • Science Research Program – Bronx Science students have long succeeded at the Science Talent Search Competition. Hear from current students about their research.
  • Makerspace – Visit the Bronx Science Makerspace to make a new project, relive your STL glory and see our 3D printers in action.
  • Athletics – Relive your physical education and courtyard fun with opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, handball and ultimate. Equipment, uniforms and locker rooms will all be available for use.
  • Enjoy lunch in the Bronx Science Cafeteria.
  • Shop at the Bronx Science Swag Pop-Up Shop.

This is but a sampling of what is being offered. Alumni will also be able to reconnect with their classmates as well as speak with current students about Bronx Science today. It promises to be a lot of fun and please spread the word to your friends. Friends and family are welcome as well.

Note: There is no fee to attend but everyone must register in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements to plan for the day. Please note that while there are no costs to attend these events, we strongly encourage every attendee to make a gift to the Bronx Science Alumni Foundation in honor of the school’s 80th anniversary.
