New York, NY – “I am appalled and disgusted by the allegations against Eric Schneiderman, but I applaud the brave women who came out despite the potential political and personal consequences that may have followed. Schneiderman’s resignation is a small measure of justice and, more importantly, one step forward for the survivors of his abuse. I am pleased that a highly accomplished woman, Barbara Underwood, has been chosen to step in as acting attorney general. Given the abuse of power in this situation and countless others, an accomplished woman should be named as the replacement to fill out the remainder of Schneiderman’s term. In the age of #MeToo, I believe, the appointment of a woman is the right answer,” said Gloria Middleton, President, CWA Local 1180.
