Participatory Budgeting – What Would You Do With a Million Dollars?

What is Participatory Budgeting (PB)?

Participatory Budgeting is an initiative by the City Council in which the community directly decides how $1 MILLION from the city`s budget is spent. Last year over 1000 ideas were submitted to us and with the help of our budget delegates, volunteers and outreach group, 3,470 people cast their VOTES for the winning projects .

This year we want even more involvement from the community. From now until mid-October, our team will be canvassing the district collecting ideas on how $1 Million dollars should be spent to improve the neighborhood. You can vote online HERE, in person at our District Office on 1377 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY, 10452, or at any of our upcoming neighborhood assemblies and events.

How can you get involved?

In addition to submitting your IDEA, you can also volunteer to assist in collecting ideas, become a budget delegate, and encourage others to be participate. To submit an idea, the only requirement is that you are 13 or older and reside in the district. It is that easy!
