Summer Employment Opportunity for high school students

I am writing to inform you about an exciting employment opportunity for Bronx high school students this summer. Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy’s Urban Ecology Teen Internship is a program that aims to fulfill’s the Conservancy’s goal to support, restore and preserve the park’s 800+ acres of natural areas, but also to build relationships with the community through preparing a new generation of students for college and of stewards of the environment. The program’s objectives are to introduce students to environmental subjects; give them hands-on work experience in various environmental disciplines while earning an hourly wage; and provide lectures, lab and field studies for which they earn college credits.

Urban Ecology Teen Internship is a paid, rigorous seven-week combination of field work at Van Cortlandt Park and academic work at CUNY Lehman College. Students will earn minimum wage and upon completion of the Lehman College Environmental Science Course, will earn three college credits tuition free!
