NYCFC 24-Hour Game Toward Sunday Home Opener

 New York City Football Club (NYCFC) kicked off its second annual 24-Hour Game presented by Degree Deodorant earlier today at Rockefeller Center®. More than 700 New Yorkers will take part in the pop-up soccer game on the iconic Plaza over 24 consecutive hours of play.

NYCFC Head Coach Domènec Torrent, Sporting Director Claudio Reyna, and First Team players spoke to media, cheered on the amateur players, and participated in the opening ceremony before the Team Ring vs. Team Maxi game kicked off.

Special guests included celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, former World Cup Final referee and current General Manager of the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) Howard Webb, and two-time Emmy Award winning commentator Fernando Fiore.

The event kickstarted a weekend that will culminate with NYCFC’s 2019 Home Opener at Yankee Stadium against D.C. United on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
