Join us Tuesday and keep up the pressure on City Hall

We need park advocates to join us again this Tuesday, May 14 on the steps of City Hall. While the City Council has listened to our call for increased park funding, the Mayor hasn’t included any of our asks in his budget! We must keep up the pressure.

The City Council Committees on Finance and Parks & Recreation will hold a public hearing on May 14th to look at the Executive Budget for NYC Parks. The Mayor’s office released the Executive Budget last week (this is the second iteration of the City budget that is released each spring). Because none of the Play Fair Coalition’s asks were included in the Mayor’s most recent draft of the budget, we are holding a rally before the hearing. We need to show the City Council and Mayor that we aren’t backing down and that they need to Play Fair for parks!

It is more critical than ever for us to show the City that it must step up and meaningfully increase the budget for Parks. We need you to join us again atCity Hall this Tuesday, May 14 at 12pm.

We encourage all rally participants to stay after and join us at 1pm for the budget hearing itself. While there isn’t a chance to testify at this hearing, your presence in the room will help show the Mayor and the City Council that we are paying close attention.
