Concourse Senior Appreciation Day

Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson, Assemblywoman Latoya Joiner, and State Senator Jose M. Serrano held their Annual Senior Appreciation Day Thursday. The event had healthy food and deserts for the seniors, entertainment which included the Hope of Israel Senior Center (located at 1068 Gerard Avenue) Community Singers, information tables for seniors, and of course elected officials.

Almost two-hundred seniors attended, and all who were asked said they were having a great time. City Councilman Ritchie Torres stopped by to talk to the seniors, and to let them know that he was running for the 15th congressional district. While Councilwoman Gibson welcomed her fellow Bronx City Council member, Councilwoman Gibson said that she was not supporting him or any candidate in the 15th congressional district as of yet.

Assemblywoman Latoya Joiner was missing on such a beautiful day, the reason being that she was a little under the weather. Former Assemblywoman and Deputy Bronx Borough President Aurelia Greene was on hand to meet and greet some of her former constituents.
