In front of an estimated at twenty-five thousand people at Queensbridge Park ( what could be the largest crowd to see any of the 2020 Democratic presidential primary contenders), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez credited Sen. Bernie Sanders as inspiring her to seek the congressional seat she was to win. AOC, as she is better known, then endorsed Sen. Sanders in his bid for the Democratic nod for President of the United States.

After the Queens endorsement event, AOC brought Sen. Sanders to the Bronx. The two democratic socialists dropped in at Ellie’s Diner, at 58 Metropolitan Oval, an eatery frequented by AOC and across from her co-op apartment. Inside one could easily “Feel the Bern” as Sanders spoke briefly to those who packed the diner. Earlier this month, Sanders suffered a mild heart attack. Accompanying him to Ellie’s on Saturday afternoon was his wife, Pat.

After the speech,it was time to go around the room, pressing the flesh, shaking hands and taking photos with many of the people inside the Parkchester establishment. Then, the Sanders left to their next stop where Bernie was scheduled to have a private dinner with Rep, Ocasio-Cortez.
