A much maligned monstrosity has been felled by the very thing it was put up for – wind.
Co-op City had protested against another billboard at the corners of Baychester and Bartow Avenues almost 2 years ago. In what appeared to be an act of defiance, the owner of the property then decided to put up a wind turbine, without permits, after the City denied his billboard.
Today, that all came crashing down.
