Little Leagues And More Latest To Suspend Activities

More implications of the Coronavirus outbreak has disrupted youth sports in New York City and around the nation. Little League Baseball activities in the past few days have suspended all activities until further notice.

The Pandemic has canceled all PSAL/ CHSAA sports and practices. The Bronx Chronicle also reached out to local boxing gyms and various fitness and recreational centers in the Bronx.

There is a significant decrease in members that use their facilities and many are considering closing their doors until further notice as precaution or being informed to do so. They are using precaution and in touch with city and state officials. 

Here in the Bronx, as was expected, all Little League organizations have suspended activities.and suspended the start of their season. All, if not most of the leagues begin organized and scheduled games around the first week of April. 

The following is a statement from the Castle Hill Little League:

ALL SATURDAY WINTER BASEBALL CLINICS POSTPONED**

Due to the concerns of the spread of the coronavirus, Little League International has asked that all youth baseball organizations suspended all baseball activities until April 6th. As a chartered member of Little League & out of concern for all of our players & parents, we will postpone our winter baseball clinics until the April 6th weekend. We will continue preparing for the youth baseball season & will continue with online registration.
