Before COVID-19 you use to enter through the front door of an MTA bus, put your Metro Card in the fare box, and walked down the isle to find a seat.
In the photo is the new look of the interior of an MTA bus during COVID-19 that was on a Bronx street. You now enter through the rear door of the bus, and do not have to put your Metro Card in the fare box. With Social Distancing you can’t get within six feet of the driver or the fare box which is chained off from the rest of the bus.
