Speaker Heastie Statement on the Passing of Former Assemblymember Aurelia Greene It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of a true friend and community stalwart, former Assemblymember Aurelia Greene. While representing the 77th Assembly District in the Bronx for over 20 years, she dedicated her life to the betterment of our borough and the entirety of our state. She continued that steadfast service to her community when she became deputy Bronx borough president in 2009. I would like to extend my condolences to Aurelia’s friends and family, and pray that they find comfort during this time.
