NYPTI PROSECUTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

ADA Nancy Killian Will Be Honored Tomorrow at DAASNY Conference

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark today announced that Assistant District Attorney Nancy Killian is a recipient of the Prosecutor of the Year Award from the New York Prosecutors Training Institute (NYPTI) and the District Attorneys Association of New York (DAASNY).

          District Attorney Clark said, “Nancy has an unwavering commitment to doing justice in each case and rightfully deserves this distinguished honor. Nancy has served as an attorney for three decades and is currently Bureau Chief of the Appeals Bureau. She always takes her job seriously and works diligently. Apart from being an outstanding lawyer, Nancy is an inspiring and gracious mentor to other lawyers, tirelessly teaching them and assisting them. I am proud that Nancy is a recipient of this prestigious award.”

           Ms. Killian joined the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in 1990, she served as Deputy Bureau Chief of the Appeals Bureau from 2000 until 2015 and became Chief in 2016. Throughout her career, Ms. Killian handled hundreds of appeals, post-conviction motions and federal habeas corpus cases. During the past year, Ms. Killian has been instrumental in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office’s compliance with criminal justice reform and has overseen significant litigation arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining the Office, Ms. Killian served as a Court Attorney at the Appellate Division, Third Department, and in Criminal Court in New York County.

           Ms. Killian will receive the award tomorrow at DAASNY’s Annual Awards Dinner of the 2021 Summer Conference at the Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing, NY.
