Frank X. Allkofer is a proud veteran having served with the United States Army in Vietnam and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. During the Vietnam War, he served his country with honor, courage and bravery. Upon his return from Vietnam, he dedicated his life to making the Rochester community more welcoming and supportive of Veterans. He is an ardent supporter of Rochester’s veteran organizations and has been instrumental in their success, including the Veterans Outreach Center, Vietnam Veterans of America and Monroe County Veterans Service Agency.

He is a lifelong Gates resident and graduated from Gates-Chili High School. He studied at Monroe Community College and the State University of New York at Brockport, where he received a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

One of his true loves is the Town of Gates and he has a long, distinguished history of service to his beloved town. He served as the Director of the Town of Gates Recreation and Parks Department from 1969-2000, and then went on to serve as the Director of the Monroe County Parks Department from 2000-2006. Mr. Allkofer served as a Gates Town Board member from 2004-2015 and was inducted into the Gates-Chili Hall of Fame in 2017. He has made a long-lasting positive impact on the residents and their quality of life.

Mr. Allkofer was elected to the Monroe County Legislature to serve the 4th Legislative District in 2015 and was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2019. In addition to his service in the Legislature, he is an integral member of several organizations around the community, including the Gates AMITA Club, the Doud Post American Legion, Chapter 20 Vietnam Veterans of America, Genesee Region State Parks Commission, 4 Point Rod and Gun Club, Avon Archery Club and Chili Fitness Center. He is also a devout parishioner of St. Helen’s Church.

Mr. Allkofer is a true American hero and a humble public servant. He is the definition of a public servant – honest, hardworking and selfless. He has devoted his entire life to the community, veterans and to helping others and, now, he is a distinguished and deserving inductee to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame.
