Seen on the River

Canada Goose along the River

Alternate text

Canada Goose, also known as Branta Canadensis, is a large wild goose with a black head and neck, white cheeks, and brown body. This goose is native to temperate climates in North America and can be found in other areas during migration. They are known to be found around freshwater bodies, which is why you can see this one lounging along the port near the Bronx River. Find out more about the animals living along the Bronx River HERE!

For more information or to share examples of Bronx River Fauna that you have seen, please email our Ecology Team at Christian.murphy@bronxriver.org.
