National Voter Registration Day in the Bronx, 9/20

Tuesday, September 20 is National Voter Registration Day and there will be in-person registration events in the Bronx tomorrow. An  estimated 18,000 Bronx residents will turn 18 this year and become eligible to vote.

National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic activity celebrating our democracy. First observed in 2012, it has quickly gained momentum ever since. Community organizations across New York City will be holding more than 50 voter registration drives and voter engagement events.

Celebrated every September, National Voter Registration Day involves volunteers and organizations from all over the country hitting the streets in a single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise. Nearly 4.7 million voters have registered to vote on NVR Day to-date.

It’s simple and easy. If you’re going to turn 18 on or before Election Day, November 8, you can sign up to vote or update your voter registration at the locations listed below tomorrow.
