Cat Lovers Rejoice! Cat Cafe Popping Up in NYC

I stated in a previous article that, “So far there are no plans to open up a cat cafe in New York City (and it might be virtually impossible because of strict health regulations)…”

Well, it seems I’m going to be proven (half) wrong!

Gothamist and Sprudge report that Purina will open a pop up cat cafe in New York City from April 24th to the 27th at 168 Bowery. People will have the chance to play and interact with the cats during operating hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. While this is backed by a major cat food brand, the pop up cat cafe will feature adoptable cats from Long Island’s North Shore Animal League ready for love and a good home.

Visitors will be able to pick up coffee beverages like the “cat’achino” from a Brooklyn-based artisan coffee roaster that has yet to be announced. Additionally, Purina will have different speakers for each day the cat cafe is open, including veterinarians, feline behaviorists, artists, photographers, and Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars judge and founder of the Carrie Ann Inaba Animal Project).

Who would want to hang out with a bunch of kitties while sipping coffee? This gal!
