A Healthy Start to Summer
Soundview families kicked off Memorial Day Weekend with a trip to Leake & Watts’ Soundview Wellness Carnival. Parents had a chance to connect to different community health organizations and kids enjoyed face painting, a bouncy house, and other fun activities at the May 27th event, sponsored by Leake & Watts’ Family Resource Center and the Soundview Community Partnership Program. The carnival reminded families not to ignore their health. “Unfortunately, when families are struggling to get by, health check-ups can take a back seat to everyday necessities,” explains Meredith Barber of Leake & Watts. “Our goal is to help strengthen families by introducing them to the health services they need.”
