Dear Friend,
Today, we honor and thank our veterans who answered the call of duty to protect our citizens and preserve our nation’s freedom. More than 900,000 veterans call New York home, and throughout the generations New Yorkers have served with distinction in times of war and peace, here at home and abroad.
We also pay tribute to our military families who have made extraordinary sacrifices supporting our service members as they put their lives on the line to defend our values and protect our state and nation.
The men and women of our armed services truly are America’s heroes and their selfless service has earned our deepest gratitude.
I ask all New Yorkers to join me this Veterans Day in honoring our veterans, our active duty and reserve service members, and their families.
