This morning at about 9:00am a Metro North Commuter Train from Pougkeepsie to New York City Derailed at Spuyten Duyvil in the Southwest part of the Bronx. It has been reported that there were 4 fatalities and 13 seriously injured riders. First reports indicate that speeding may have contributed to the accident.
Amtrack and Commuter train service was interrupted. But has now been restored.
The Monday morning rush hour is expected to be impacted. Check with Metro North’s
passenger information service for updated information.
