BREAKING NEWS – Fireworks Explosion at Pelham Bay Park

From the Captain at the 45th precinct:

Good Morning,

I would like to advise you of an incident that occurred last night at
approximately 11:00 PM, Monday December 30th. There was an explosion of
fireworks at Baseball Field # 1 inside Pelham Bay Park at the intersection of
Middletown Road and Dwight Place. An as of yet unknown person(s) exploded some
commercial grade fireworks inside of a metal trash container on the field. This
explosion caused some minor damage to three residences located directly across
from the park on Middletown Road and Dwight Place. There were NO injuries
sustained by anyone as a result of this incident. This explosion was very loud
in nature and was heard for quite some distance.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Arson and Explosion Squad
and the 45 Precinct Detective Squad.

Huge explosion heard throughout the Northeast Bronx at roughly 11pm. Still trying to assimilate information as it is coming in. Some reports are saying either explosives or a large stash of fireworks were detonated in Pelham Bay Park. Some homes had windows blown out.
